Back in Sept. 2023, Amazon announced in Generative AI LLM features coming to Alexa. In subsequent announcements made in connection with a limited roll-out for Amazon Kids Plus subscribers using Alexa, they announced we’d see these AI features by years end. And here, we are at the end of December demo’ing the new Alexa AI features! Unlike, the Explore with Alexa, feature designed for Kids Plus subscribers this Beta roll-out has had no fan fair, press releases, or anything else I could easily point to. To see if you have access to this new AI Chatbot feature, with Alexa, simply say “Alexa, Let’s Chat!”. Here’s a link to my 20 minute demo, on the Echo Tips Podcast. At present it appears the Chat bot is firewalled off from more advanced features, such as routine creation, home automation controls, and several other basic Alexa features; but I imagine we’ll see a roll-out of that soon enough.
